It seems that every toy we buy for our children requires some kind of batteries. If your family is like mine, you have a drawer full of batteries ready for the
next toy emergency and that drawer gets depleted rapidly. One idea we've tried that has cut down on battery expenses is to use rechargeable batteries.
The charger is fairly inexpensive but rechargeable batteries are not cheap. It's a good idea to pick up several sets of all the batteries you commonly use,
AAA, AA, C, D, and 9-Volt, and keep careful track of where they are being used because they have a habit of disappearing. You may wish to have a
couple of different charging units so you can recharge multiple batteries at once. Also, get one of the small chargers that plug directly into the outlet
so you can take it on trips easily. So if your child's GameBoy runs out while visiting relatives, you can recharge the batteries there and save the day. The
initial cost of buying rechargeable batteries and chargers is high, but the savings in the long run are significant.
